1/5/17 - 1/19/17

1/5/17 - 1/19/17

This is when the snow falls and sticks - the cold is not just cold, it's damp and cold. Because of this, this qi node belongs to water and earth.

This node belongs to the ghosts. Any conditions relating to heat can be balanced or driven deeper, depending on your conduct. The trapped heat that can developed in the summer and come with over activity and stimulants - these burn up the yin. If there isn't enough yin to balance all of the yang activity, the yang can spread malignantly.

In order to put out these little malignant fires, it is important to take care of yourself this time of year and nourish your yin. Rest and allow yourself to feel some of the cold - your house doesn't need to be 70 degrees + all winter. Better to put on a sweater than to turn up the heat. Also, allow yourself the natural state of lethargy that comes with this time of year.

The winter is an ideal time to gain wisdom. Allow the activity from the summer to provide you with teachings and meaningful reflections. Ideal time to go for a walk; reflect and dream.

Walking during this time of year is a gentle way to activate the yin you are cultivating and nourish your body. This can distribute the yin to cool the fire conditions that may have accumulated in the late summer and have settled into your body. If you nourish and distribute your yin, that malignant accumulation of heat can drop off. There is no aggression in this, this is more about letting go and reveling in the healing the season brings. Relaxing allows for the deep absorbing of yin. The best time for this will be 2 am in the morning - Because of this it is important to not go to sleep exhausted or stressed out. Go to bed early and with a peaceful mind. This can help to rid yourself of chronic conditions.

Staying close to family also allows for resolutions of ancestors and tying off unfinished business. Go home for Christmas kinda thing ...

This is really the time of year that belongs to ghosts and not to humans. Dying this time of year if very auspicious; crossing over this time of year is very easy. The other side is very close now.
