I want to give some background on where this blog is coming from, because that is at least as important as the information in the blog.
Everything written is in homage to my teachers; Liu Ming and Jeffrey Yuen. Both of them come from amazing lineages and have had incredible experiences. The main body of this blog is dedicated to transmitting the "qi of the day." This is something that Liu Ming did on his Facebook page for the last few years before he died. He was in the process of creating a blog for this information as well as building out a school called Da Yuan Circle.
While Liu Ming was alive I would read his posts and find much inspiration and meaning in them. I then started echoing them to my patients and through my own Facebook page, adding a bit of my own interpretation. He was always very supportive of repeating out the information and said it was for everyone and did not belong to him. He was incredibly intuitive and insightful - I do not pretend to be at his level. That being said, the information I will put forth is my best attempt and I will get better as I go along. I hope others will find it useful as well.
The information is based on the truth that we are all in this together and that everything is cycle that repeats but changes as it goes along. So although the flow continues, the conditions will never be exactly the same. There are simply too many variables for there to be perfect replication. What the cycling with out replication allows for is opportunity for growth over and over again. The qi of the day is meant to inform you of when are good opportunities for this growth and when are good opportunities for laying low and gathering strength.
Unlike the modern notion of constant progress, this study shows there is a time and place for all things to happen. Rest is no better or worse than progress; they are simply two interrelated elements and both must be acknowledged.
The other posts will be inspired from my other teacher Jeffrey Yuen, who is an 88th generation Daoist priest in the Shang Qing school (Jade Purity). I am blessed to be learning Chinese Medicine, Daoism and indirectly Chinese History and Philosophy through Liu Ming and Jeffrey Yuen. These posts will not have the structure that the qi of the day posts and will be geared towards achieving harmony and health in life for all. As Jeffrey likes to say; the level the illness is on, is not the level the ability to heal is on. We must transcend our illnesses, move beyond them and the imbalance simply can slip away.
